Patrick Dewane’s grandfather refused to tell stories about his service in World War II, yet when he died, his basement yielded typewritten accounts, photos and rare film footage.
Dewane will bring this archival material to life in a one-man multi-media show on Saturday, July 16 at 7 p.m. at the Alexandria Area High School Performing Arts Center. Veterans and their families can attend for free.
Dewayne takes on a dozen different roles, recounting his grandfather’s journey through the Battle of the Bulge, the liberation of Czechoslovakia and the rediscovery of his own roots.
Tickets are $12 and available at the Community Education Office, 1410 McKay Ave. S., Alexandria; by phone at (320) 762-3310; or online at www.alexandria.k12.mn.us.
