Restaurants in Minnesota as of Monday, Jan. 11, may reopen at 50% capacity, but at least one Alexandria dining spot is keeping its doors closed.
In a Facebook post dated Jan. 9, Mike Sieve, whose family has owned the Brass Lantern in the Viking Plaza Mall for nearly 40 years, said the restaurant would not be reopening Monday with all other restaurants. He said it would not be reopening any time in the near future.
In his post, Sieve said, "A variety of circumstances have combined to make this decision necessary and we hope that you will understand that it was not lightly considered. Brass Lantern has been a part of this incredible community for 38 years and we are happy and proud beyond belief for the support and encouragement we have received from all of you who helped us achieve such a level of success during those years."
The Echo Press reached out to Sieve and a full story will be published in the Friday, Jan. 15, Echo Press.
