Travel training program begins
The Regional Transportation Coordinating Council, organized through West Central Minnesota Communities Action, recently announced a travel training program for residents of Region 4.
Along with Douglas, Region 4 includes the counties of Becker, Clay, Grant, Otter Tail, Pope, Stevens, Traverse and Wilkin.
The program is aimed to teach older adults, those with disabilities and others interested how to use public and private transportation independently.
Training can be done on a one-on-one basis, or a presentation can be made for small groups. Each participant will go through an assessment process to determine their travel comfort level, learn about available travel options and receive assistance as they schedule their first ride.
Those interested in participating may call 218-671-2030 or email marcyp@wcmca.org. To learn more about the program, visit wcmca.org and select the transportation tab.
