  • Brian Zimny, a financial consultant with RBC Wealth Management, recently earned his certified financial planner certification.

He and his wife, Sara, were born and raised in Alexandria. Zimny is the son of Dan and Colleen Zimny of Alexandria.
All certified financial planner candidates take extensive coursework in financial planning, tax planning, employee benefits, retirement planning, estate planning, investment management and insurance.

In addition to continuing education requirements set forth by FINRA and RBC Wealth Management, Zimny will be fulfilling continuing education requirements as a certified financial planner.

  • The Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) recently honored Hubbard Broadcasting with its prestigious Historic Site in Journalism Award.

This is the first time the SPJ award has been presented in Minnesota. Each year, the SPJ honors one news organization, person or landmark of national interest that played important roles in American journalistic history. The Historic Sites award program began in 1942.
Hubbard Broadcasting, Inc. and was the first television station to sign on the air in the upper Midwest.

The LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System is a voluntary national standard for developing sustainable buildings, which are energy- and water-efficient and typically cost less to operate and maintain than conventional buildings. LEED Accredited Professionals understand green building practices and principles and are familiar with LEED requirements, resources, and processes.
Tautges is a mechanical engineer in training in Minnesota and has been with WSN since 2007.
