Commissioner Paul Schnell with the Department of Corrections will provide an overview of a four-point policy proposal and an update on Minnesota Corrections at the Alexandria Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce’s upcoming virtual Listen and Learn.

The free event is open to everyone and will be held Monday, April 26, from 12-1 p.m.

The Department of Corrections is championing the Minnesota Rehabilitation Act (MRRA) in this legislative session. The goal of the policy reform is to better prepare incarcerated people to rejoin their communities and the workforce. Once the policy is fully implemented, this could save Minnesota taxpayers up to $10 million per year.

Listen and Learn is a one-hour informative event hosted by the Alexandria Chamber. These sessions offer information, education, support and resources on topics that impact the community and its diverse business and organizational partners.

Those interested in registering may visit the Chamber website and look for the registration link on the main page. For more information, call 320-763-3161 or email info@alexandriamn.org.
