Alexandria Public Schools announces that Jessica Hjelle will be joining the district leadership team as director of human resources.
Hjelle will replace Scott Heckert, who retired on June 30. Hjelle brings 17 years of experience in human resources, the past nine in her role as HR manager at LGC. School Board approval is expected at the July 19 regular meeting. Hjelle will begin her duties on July 19.
Within her capacity as the director of human resources, she will plan, direct, and coordinate the recruitment of and hiring procedures for all personnel; and act as chief negotiator for all employment contracts and oversees all programs related to personnel.
“I am very pleased that Jessica is taking this leadership role in our district,” said Superintendent Rick Sansted in a news release. “She has great skills and abilities that will provide support in developing and maintaining effective working environments and positive employee relations.”
Hjelle earned a bachelor’s degree in business management, with human resources emphasis, from St. Cloud State University. She holds HR credentials of PHR from the Human Resource Certification Institute and SHRM-CP from the Society of Human Resource Management.
