ALEXANDRIA — Kellie Janssen, president of Alexandria-based Henry’s Foods Inc., shared the following letter that she wrote to Henry's Foods vendors.
"As you are aware, or may have heard, Henry’s Foods is making headlines. AMCON Distributing Company (AMCON) has agreed to purchase Henry’s Foods. AMCON is a public company on the New York Stock Exchange and the sixth largest convenience store distributor in the United States. They serve 5,400 customers across 29 states and generate annual revenues of $2.3 billion. Together our growth will be stronger than ever before.
"The Henry’s Foods business and name will continue in the marketplace and the business will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of AMCON Distributing Company. I will have the privilege and honor to continue in my role as president of Henry’s.
"The Henry’s Foods Team you have been doing business with all these years is continuing to grow and expand and this partnership will allow us to serve more customers. We are excited about this transaction as together we will be able to add increased capabilities for Henry’s customers. We now have access to enhanced facilities, capacity and geographic reach to serve our customers as they grow. AMCON shares our respect for a positive and collaborative work environment among vendors and colleagues which is another key element of our success. This made AMCON the ideal partner for the growth of our business and succession of the Eidsvold legacy.
"The anticipated date of the transaction close is Feb. 3, 2023. Our new legal entity is LOL Foods, Inc., DBA Henry’s Foods Inc. Please contact your Henry’s buyer if you have questions or require additional documents from us to assist in the transfer of business to our new legal entity.
