The 22nd annual United Way Golf Classic took place on Monday, June 14 at Geneva Golf Club in Alexandria.
Beautiful weather set the stage for a great day of comradery and fun while supporting health, education and financial stability in the community, according to organizers. A total of 31 teams gathered for the United Way of Douglas and Pope County's first fundraising event since September of 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The day contained golf contests, chance to participate in the United Way Raffle and an entry to win a free membership to Geneva Golf Club, donated by Geneva.
Top three teams:
First – Henry’s Foods, 16 under par. Team members: Brian Eidsvold, Scott Janssen, Josh Sherlin and Mike Loge.

Second – SERV Pro, 15 under par. Team members: Trevor Rossum, Chad Ferguson, Larry Novotny and Craig Buysse.
Third – Rotary, 12 under par. Team members: Mike Johnson, Adam Becker, Sherry Bruckner and Don Macado.

• 1 Year Membership to Geneva Golf Club: Jim Stratton, Alomere Health Team.

United Way leaders said that thanks to hole sponsors and participating teams, it was able to raise more than $23,000 to support Douglas and Pope County residents.
3M, Aagard, Bremer Bank, Calvary Lutheran Church, Douglas, First Western Bank and LGC gave corporate support to United Way.
