Diann Drew has been promoted to serve as publisher of the Echo Press in Alexandria.
Drew has worked in community newspapers for more than 26 years. She has been with the Echo Press for a little over 20 years as controller with the Forum Communications Company’s Lakes Group, which includes the Echo Press, Wadena Pioneer Journal, Perham Focus, Park Rapids Enterprise and Detroit Lakes Tribune.
“We have a great team that is committed to the community and I'm looking forward to helping lead the paper through the opportunities that await community newspapers," Drew said.
Drew has been active in community organizations and industry associations. She is a graduate of Leadership Alexandria and is currently a Chamber Ambassador. She is an active member of Kiwanis and is currently in her fourth year on the Minnesota Newspaper Association board of directors.
Diann and her husband, Don, have two grown daughters, Rachel of Minnetonka, and Erin, who lives in Aberdeen, South Dakota with her husband, Jon.

Jody Hanson, the long-time publisher of the Echo Press, was recently promoted to FCC Director of Business Development and will continue her role as publisher of the Lakes Group.
