The votes are in, they have been tabulated and the winners in all 87 categories of the Echo Press Best of the Lakes Area contest have been notified.
Nearly 3,300 individuals cast their votes in this year’s contest, with the total number of votes reaching almost 70,000.
“We want to sincerely thank all the businesses involved as well as our Echo Press readers for making this such an awesome contest,” said Echo Press Publisher Jody Hanson. “We wish to extend a huge congratulations to all those who now hold the title and honor as being one of the Best of the Lakes Area for 2019.”
Hanson said for this year’s contest, the Echo Press enlisted a new company to take the Best of the Lakes Area contest to the next level for voter engagement, and it did the job.
“Second Street has proven to be a winner,” said Hanson. “First in the nomination phase and now with the voting and results phase. It’s been a true winner for our finalists with almost all categories being a close race.”
Data from Second Street showed that the Best of the Lakes Area contest had people literally voting from coast to coast, with voters in Pennsylvania and Washington, as well as many places in between.
Age demographics indicated that those in the 33- to 42-year-old category were the top voters, followed by those in the 43- to 52-year-old age category.
The Echo Press sales team, along with the publisher, were unanimous in thinking this year’s contest was definitely a huge success.
