ALP Utilities is celebrating Public Power Week, Oct. 6-12, along with more than 2,000 other community-owned, not-for-profit electric utilities that collectively provide electricity to 49 million Americans.
ALP invites its customers to join in a family-friendly Public Power Open House on Monday, Oct. 7, from 4-7 p.m. in the ALP garage. Activities include demonstrations and education (little lineman rodeo, water pipe tapping, GIS mapping software and more), power plant tours, visiting with staff and learning about rebates available for energy-efficient purchases.
Food will also be provided, including pulled pork sandwiches, hot dogs, chips and brownies. Free LED light bulbs will be available for ALP electric customers.
