• Joel Kamholz is retiring after 24 years as general manager of Culligan of Alexandria, which received the EJ Culligan Award in 2018 as one of Culligan's 15 top-performing dealerships in North America. Steve and Shirley Senden, owners of the area's Culligan dealer at 601 Nokomis St., have promoted Ryan White from service manager to general manager, effective Dec. 31.
• JBS Enterprises has been sold and will continue operations based in Alexandria as Semi-Trailer Storage Rental LLC, under new owners Becky and Alden (A.J.) Just. The business delivers standard 48-foot semi-trailers and sets them up on clients' property. The semi-trailer units can serve as convenient temporary storage solutions, either short-term or long-term, for industrial, commercial, public or residential properties. Rentals can be on a month-by-month basis or longer duration for temporary warehousing, extra storage, or storing construction materials on site. Homeowners can also rent these to store household contents during construction of new homes.
• Alex Auto & Marine, 1424 N. Nokomis St. NE, Ste. 101, is hosting Wake Up Alexandria Friday, Jan. 4. The Alexandria Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce's twice-a-month get-together that is open to all members of the public starts at 7:30 a.m. The non-profit recipient is Central MN Chapter Red Cross, and the Pot of Gold will be valued at $4,674.
