• SERVPRO of Douglas & Otter Tail Counties received the Director’s Gold award at SERVPRO’s recent 50th annual convention. The event, themed “Making History,” was held June 24-28 at the Sacramento Convention Center in Sacramento, California, where the company was founded. The convention showcased small business best practices and cutting-edge restoration and remediation technology.

  • Carlos Creek Winery received three gold medals, including a Sweepstakes Nominee, five silver medals and a bronze medal, at the 13th annual Mid-American Wine Competition at the Des Moines Area Community College campus in Ankeny, Iowa from July 12-14. Gold: Cabernet Sauvignon, which was a Sweepstakes Nominee, Anniversary Reserve and You Betcha Blush. Silver: Crimson Rose: Cold Vine Collection, Frontenac Gris, Petit Ami: Gold Vine Collection, Reserve Marquette and Triumph. Bronze: Solera Port: aged 5 years minimum. Veteran wine judges from throughout the U.S. awarded 78 gold medals, 191 silver medals and 107 bronze medals in judging wines from 13 Midwestern states.
  • Keith Englund, Kevin Kopischke and Jerry Rapp of Alomere Health were among 11 hospital trustees from across Minnesota recognized for earning certification through the Minnesota Hospital Association trustee certification program. By participating in MHA’s voluntary certification program, hospital trustees receive training on current health care trends, governance best practices, ethics, government regulations, patient safety and quality. Participants undergo 35 hours of coursework, making Minnesota’s initiative the most comprehensive in the nation.
