A Minnewaska area student was among 19 Minnesota students to receive the James W. Tracy Scholarship.

Ashley Anderson and other recipients are seniors who plan to study agriculture after graduating from high school. The scholarship is scored on leadership, involvement, agriculture interest and financial need. Each student received $1,000.

These scholarships are named for James W. Tracy, a farmer from Dennison who died in 2014. He donated his farm to the Minnesota FFA Foundation.

The scholarship guidelines and application for school year 2020-2021 will be available Nov. 15 at mnffafoundation.org.
