Realtor giving campaign raises more than $250,000
Realtor associations around Minnesota have collected over a quarter million dollars in donations for businesses that were damaged during civil unrest in Minneapolis and St. Paul last year.
Starting in June 2020, Minnesota Realtors Rebuilding Community spearheaded the effort to engage realtors on housing issues related to racial diversity, equity and inclusion.
A fundraiser was launched in September to support homeownership by and work toward rebuilding businesses that make up the backbone of healthy communities.
The group reached its goal and raised $250,120.
The funds will be distributed to the following organizations: Upper Northside Business Association, Longfellow Community Council, Minneapolis Foundation Fund for Safe Communities and Twin Cities Rebuild for the Future Fund.
Minnesota Realtors Rebuilding Community’s founding partners are the Minnesota Realtors, Minneapolis Area Realtors and Saint Paul Area Association of Realtors. The group’s mission is to make meaningful changes that address racial injustice by focusing on learning, partnership and action to build a better future.
The Greater Alexandria Area Association of Realtors was one of 13 associations that participated in the giving campaign across the state. It serves almost 200 realtors in the counties of Douglas, Pope, Todd and surrounding areas. The organization partners with around 40 affiliate businesses that support the real estate industry and is dedicated to promoting and maintaining high standards of conduct in the real estate profession while helping individuals achieve the goal of homeownership.
Minnesota Realtors is the membership organization supporting all 21,000 realtors in the state of Minnesota. Learn more at www.mnrealtor.com.
