Grants go to two area businesses
Two local companies recently landed sizable grants to expand from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development's Job Creation Fund.
Alexandria Industries received $175,000 to add a new extrusion press and add 7,300 square feet of manufacturing space and 11,300 square feet of office space, a total project cost of $16.4 million.
The company expects to create 14 jobs within the next three years with an average cash wage of $15.63 an hour.
Reprocessed Plastics in Garfield received $175,000 to add 13,000 square feet to grow its business of recycling waste into industrial products.
The total project cost is estimated at $638,441, and the company expects to create 20 jobs within the next three years.
