CBD is a popular product among today's consumers who are seeking natural wellness solutions for help with sleep, arthritis pain and chronic pain.
The Alexandria CBD Centers is now open as a full-service, state-of-the-art retail and education center. The CBD Centers are focused on CBD products, made from the recently legalized industrial hemp plant.
CBD products provide relief for chronic pain, anxiety, inflammation and other health issues for humans and pets, according to Daryl and Carol Johnson, owners of the Alexandria CBD Centers. The store has many product options created from the three forms of CBD — full spectrum, broad spectrum and isolates.
Products include tinctures, gummy drops, creams, lotions, muscle relaxers, inhalants and more. CBD is a compound extracted from a hemp cannabis plant. It has less than 0.3 percent THC, the main psychoactive compound in marijuana. CBD is not marijuana and is non-psychoactive.
The Johnsons said the product is known to have significant health benefits.
"We want to educate consumers about CBD and show them how to use the product to maximize benefits,” said Daryl and Carol Johnson. "There is a lot of confusion about the product and its quality. We have the tools in the center to explain the differences. We encourage questions and give free samples. Learn about CBD before you buy it."
Products sold at the CBD Centers are made locally by licensed growers, Midwest Farms in Waseca. They control the quality of the hemp plants from seed to sale by growing, drying and extracting their own. Midwest Farms expects to produce more than 2,000 acres of the crop this year.
In December of 2018, a farm bill was signed by President Trump which made it federally legal to grow hemp, removing hemp from the Drug Enforcement Administration jurisdiction.
The CBD Centers of Alexandria is located just off Highway 27 and Broadway by Boulder Tap House and Dunn Bros. Coffee.
