Funeral services for Helen Rose Olson of Morris will be held Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at 11:00 AM at First Lutheran Church in Morris. Reverend Todd Mattson will be officiating. Visitation will be held Monday from 5 to 8 PM with a prayer service at 7:30 at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. Funeral services for Lorraine Giese of Donnelly will be held Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007 at 10:30 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church in Donnelly. Reverend Luther Johnson will be officiating. Private burial will be Thursday at Summit Cemetery in Morris. Lorraine Idell Anderson, daughter of Oscar and Emma (Perseke) Anderson, was born Feb. 4, 1934 in Correll, Minn. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Odessa.
Funeral services for Merle Stoneberg of Mountain Lake, formerly of Donnelly will be held Monday, Oct. 1, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris. Reverend Robert Jarvis will be officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to services on Monday. Burial will be at Vinger Cemetery in Donnelly. Merle Wayne Stoneberg, the son of Lawrence and Ada (Quackenbush) Stoneberg was born on May 5, 1919 in Stevens County, MN. He was baptized and later confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Donnelly.
William (Bill) Schmidgall was born the son of John Schmidgall and Lizzie (Metzger) on March 20, 1927 in Hancock. William graduated from Hancock High School in 1945. He was inducted in the US Army in 1945 and and was stationed in the Aleutian Islands. After serving in the army he attended NDSD in Fargo, N.D. On Dec. 31,1949 he married Verona Younga. The Lord gifted them with nearly 58 years of marriage and blessed them with ten children. Living in Hancock he was a self-employed contractor. He was known for his quality workmanship.

Visitation will be held Friday from 5 to 8 PM at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Burial will be at St. Petri Cemetery in Cyrus. Louise Mary Ann Podtburg, daughter of John and Louise (Buntje) Podtburg, was born December 1, 1932 in Synnes Towniship in Stevens County, Minnesota. Louise grew up in Morris where she attended Morris Public Schools.

Lillian Mae Kempf, daughter of Ned and Ollie (Fehr) Kempf, was born May 24, 1920, in Roanoke, Illinois. She grew up and received her education at a country school in the Eureka, IL area.
Funeral services for Korty Aasta Lange, age 97, formerly of Chokio will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 7, 2007 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Chokio, MN. The graveside committal will follow the funeral service in the Chokio Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, September 6, 2007 beginning at 5:00 PM and lasting until 7:00 PM at the Larson Funeral Home in Graceville. Korty Aasta Lange was born on May 8, 1910 in Ortonville to parents Jentoft Blum and Aasta Karoline (Olsen) Johnson.
By Philip Drown Sun Tribune Anyone who has ever tried to get anything done by committee might look upon the quick and efficient action by a group of local citizens currently working to purchase and restore the Morris Theatre with some measure of admiration. In the span of approximately one week in mid-June the group managed to organize a committee, form a corporation, sign a purchase agreement, and sketch out a broad-stroke plan for operating the Morris Theatre as a service to the community.
Eugene G. Eiken, age 75 of Alexandria died on Monday, Sept. 3, 2007 at Bethany Home in Alexandria. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007 at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel in Alexandria. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria.
