Funeral services for Robert "Bob" Dunphy Rose will be held Saturday, October 27, 2007, at 11:00 AM at Federated Church in Morris. Reverend Hilda Parks will be officiating. Visitation will be held Friday from 5 to 8 PM at Federated Church in Morris, with a prayer service and time of sharing at 7:00 PM. Burial will be at Summit Cemetery in Morris. Military Honors will be provided by the Morris American Legion, V.F.W. and AmVets. Robert "Bob" Dunphy Rose son of Charles and Ruth (Dunphy) Rose was born on January 7, 1923 in Little Falls, MN.
Memorial services for Rosa Donegan of Cyrus will be held Friday, Oct. 26, 2007 at 1 p.m. at Assumption Catholic Church in Morris. Rosa Mary Donegan, daughter of James and Berta Donegan was born Dec. 16, 1921 in Chicago, Ill. She enjoyed a solitary lifestyle where she was entertained by a love for theatrical and musical arts. Rosa had a passion for knowledge and reading. Rosa was an educator of mathematics. She worked in the states of Illinois and Washington. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, James C. and Frank Donegan. Burial will be in Chicago at a later date.
Eugene Nasstrom, 96, a resident of the Good Samaritan Society-Hoffman, passed away Saturday, Oct. 20, at the center. Funeral services for Eugene Nasstrom will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 24, at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Hoffman with the Rev. Steve Olson officiating. Burial will be in Lands Cemetery, Hoffman. Friends may call at the Erickson-Smith Funeral Home in Hoffman on Tuesday from 4-7 pm with a sharing of memories beginning at 6:30 p.m., and at the church one hour before services on Wednesday. Funeral services for Melvin E. Ronnie of St. Paul were held Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2007 at the Mueller-Beis Funeral Home in Rockville, Minn. Officiating at the service was Pastor Bob Benke. Burial was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Melvin, also known as Ernie, was born March 2, 1917 in Cyrus to Andrew and Mary (Galde) Ronnie. He attended Cyrus Public School graduating with the Class of 1934. After graduation he joined the Government C.C.C. program and worked in northern Minnesota. He returned to Cyrus and married Myrtle Anderson and then began working in the grocery store in Cyrus.
Memorial services for Dorothy Selland of Morris will be held Thursday, Oct. 18, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. at Federated Church in Morris. Reverend Hilda Parks will be officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be at Summit Cemetery in Morris. Dorothy was born Nov. 5, 1924, to Leroy and Olive (Cowden) Welfare in Morris. She graduated from Morris High School and from nursing school in Minneapolis. She married Donald Heise; they farmed in Pleasant Lake, N.D., where their son, Michael, was born. They divorced and Dorothy moved to San Diego, California.
Clarice E. Schmidt, age 94, resident of Nisswa, died Friday, October 12, 2007 in Brainerd. Clarice was born on March 25, 1913 in Superior, Wisconsin to Henry and Elizabeth (Nuner) Witherow. She was a surgical nurse for many years in Morris; she also owned a ceramic business in Morris. Clarice lived in Mesa, AZ from 1976-1991 and worked as an artist doing local scenery and Native American art. She moved back to Brainerd in 1991.
A memorial service for Lisa Grotjohn was held Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007 at the George Boom Funeral Home in Sioux Falls, S.D. Rev. Jesse Moore officiated. Interment was at Hills of Rest Memorial Park in Sioux Falls, S.D. Lisa Grotjohn, daughter of Lowell and Darlene (Maschino) Larson, was born June 2, 1959 in Sioux Falls. Lisa married Terrance Meyer on Feb. 16, 1980. Together they had three children: two sons, Justin and Brandon Meyer and one daughter, Heather Meyer. The couple would later divorce. Lisa later married the love of her life, Ronald Grotjohn in Sioux Falls on May 4, 1991.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be at Summit Cemetery in Morris. Ernest Eugene King, son of Jay and Freda (Harm) King, was born March 25, 1925 in Correctionville, Iowa. As a child Ernie helped his family in the garden and as a newspaper carrier.
Funeral services for Ruth Frances Olson of Morris will be held Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Morris. Reverend Ali Boomershine will be officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. Burial will be at Scandia Cemetery in Cyrus. Ruth Frances Peterson, daughter of Victor and Bertha (Johnson) Peterson, was born Febr.y 12, 1909 in Alberta, Minnesota, where she was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church.
Funeral services for Louis Brackenbury of Morris were held Monday, Oct. 8, 2007 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Morris. Reverend David Fleischmann officiated. Burial was at Wildwood Cemetery in Wheaton. Louis Ernest Brackenbury, son of Fergus and Elizabeth (Smith) Brackenbury was born on Dec. 17, 1921 in Pine City, Minn. As a boy he moved with his family to the Brook Park area, where he grew up and attended school. Louis moved to Benson and operated a mechanic shop and later did the same in Appleton. He would also help his brother Bob on the farm and other area farmers.
