Funeral services for Erland Lars Wevley of Morris will be held Saturday, December 29, 2007 at 11 AM at First Lutheran Church in Morris. Reverend Todd Mattson will be officiating. Visitation will be held Friday from 5 to 8 PM at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Burial will be at Summit Cemetery in Morris. Erland Lars Wevley, son of Earl William and Leola Marie (Kussatz) Wevley, was born on December 31, 1959 in Morris, Minnesota.
Funeral services for Jack Allen Koplin of Morris will be held Friday, December 28, 2007 at 10:30 AM at Assumption Catholic Church in Morris. Father Andy Marthaler and Deacon Joe Woods will be officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Morris. Military rites provided by the Morris American Legion, VFW and AmVets. Jack Allen Koplin, son of Elsie Koplin Fletcher and step-son of Clarence Fletcher, was born September 13, 1928 in Vergas, Minnesota, where he grew up and received his schooling.
Marion Koons Scribner, age 82, passed peacefully into the loving arms of our loving Lord Jesus on Dec. 21, 2007 at Hillcrest Health Care Center. Marion was born May 20, 1925 at Morris. She attended school at Chokio and Motley. She married Loa Robert "Bob" Scribner July 9, 1944 at Morris, MN. To this union 3 children were born, 1 son, Ron (Gwen) Scribner of Bloomington; 2 daughters, Marlys (Carl) Carlson of Eagan and Marjorie (David) Bentdahl of Waterville. The pride and joy of her life were her 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Elmer Swenson will be held Friday, December 28, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Fron Lutheran Church in Starbuck. Reverend Paul Johnson and Reverend Jim Gronewold will be officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 27, 2007 from 4 to 8 PM at the Minnewaska Lutheran Home and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Burial will be at Fron Lutheran Cemetery, rural Starbuck.
Robert Weber, age 83, of Estherville, Iowa passed away on Dec. 13, 2007 at Avera Holy Family Health in Estherville. Funeral services for Robert Weber were held Monday, Dec. 17 at the United Methodist Church in Estherville with Pastor Lynn A. Potter officiating. Burial was in East Side Cemetery in Estherville. Military graveside rites provided by VFW Post 2288 and American Legion Post 91 of Estherville. Robert Weber was born Sept. 15, 1924 in Cleveland, N.D. to Edward and Pauline (Lutz) Weber. He received his education in the Cleveland School and graduated from Cleveland High School.

Nota Gay Shanholtzer, daughter of O. A. and Nellie (Whittaker) Shanholtzer, was born July 30, 1913 in Stuart, Iowa. Nota was baptized on August 18, 1996 at the Hancock Evangelical Free Church.
Kenneth Allan Cline, 63 of Bronaugh, Mo. passed away at his home on Sunday, Sept. 23, 2007. He was born on Oct. 2, 1943 in Cherokee, Iowa to Kenneth L. Cline and Helen Reimers Cline. Kenneth grew up in Alberta, Minn. and graduated from Alberta High School. He moved to Missouri in 1984. He farmed in Stockton and Sheldon, Mo. where he raised horses and mules.
Emmet Eblen, 63, of Hoffman, died Monday, Dec. 17, at his home in Hoffman. Funeral services for Emmet Eblen will be held at 1:30 Friday, Dec. 21, at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Hoffman with the Rev. Steve Olson officiating. Burial will be in the Lands Cemetery, Hoffman. Friends may call at the Erickson-Smith Funeral Home in Hoffman on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. and at the church one hour before services on Friday. Emmet was born Aug. 21, 1944, in Benson, Minn., to Leo and Mary (Rasmussen) Eblen.
Funeral services for Harriet Fjeld were Monday, Dec. 17, 2007 at Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris. AiM Bev McNeill officiated. Burial was at Summit Cemetery in Morris. Teddy Harriet Fjeld, daughter of Sidney and (Hannah) Luella (Brown) Blaisdell was born on April 15, 1919 in Royalton, Minn. At the age of three Harriet moved with her family to Morris, where she has lived since. She was united in marriage to Roy Fjeld on Aug. 8, 1940 in Morris.
Funeral services for Richard Eli Sommer of Morris will be held Monday, December 17, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Federated Church in Morris. Reverend Hilda Parks will be officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday from 5 to 7 PM at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to services at the church on Monday. Burial will be at Summit Cemetery in Morris. Richard was born on the Sommer family farm seven miles south of Morris. The third of seven children, his parents, Jonathan and Rebecca Sommer, came to Stevens County from Iowa in 1914.
