Funeral services for Dorothy Lindor of Cyrus will be held on Saturday, September 1, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. at Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris. Reverend Ali Boomershine, and Sheryle Dahl will be officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday September 1, 2007 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Pederson Funeral Home in Morris. Burial will be at Scandia East Cemetery, near Cyrus. Dorothy Joan Lindor, daughter of Neil and Nellie (Olson) Hopkins was born on March 12, 1925 at home in Westport Township, Pope County, Minn. She was baptized on October 4, 1929 at Villard Methodist Church.
Funeral services for LaVaughn Thielke of Hancock will be held Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at 2:00 PM at St. John's Lutheran Church in Hancock. Reverend Greg Bitter will be officiating. Visitation will be held Monday, August 27, 2007 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. Burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Hancock. LaVaughn Eugene Thielke, son of Carl and Esther (Platow) Thielke was born on April 29, 1933 in Fairfield Township in Swift County, Minnesota.
Delores Shirley "Lorie" (Redfield) Weinman was born on September 2, 1941, in Clinton, Minn., to parents, David and Shirley Redfield. As an infant she was baptized at the United Methodist Church in Clinton and later confirmed into the Lutheran faith at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Clinton. Lorie attended school in Clinton and graduated from Clinton High School in 1959. On May 30, 1963, Lorie married Jim Weinman in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Clinton.
Louise Emeline Barr (Kreidler) was born in Hoffman, Minn. in 1931. Louise moved to Morris when she was five where she had a wonderful childhood, playing in the high school marching band and singing in the choir. With adventure in her soul, she left home to live and work in Minneapolis, New York City, and later to California where she met her future husband, Dick. During their 52 years of marriage, they moved with their children to Santa Clara, Chatsworth, Dallas, Long Island, Tokyo, and finally back to the Bay Area.
Arlene M . Reich, age 79, died Monday, August 20, 2007 at Golden Living Center in Moorhead, Minn. Memorial service will be held for Arlene M. Reich of Fargo, N.D. and formerly Queen Creek Ariz., on Sunday August 26 at 1 p.m. Zion Lutheran Church in Appleton. Arlene M . Reich was born May 8, 1928 to Melvin & Blanche (Dezotell) Berglund in Milan. Arlene lived in Milan until moving with her family to Appleton. She attended school in Appleton. On Dec. 22 1948 she married Harold Reich. They resided in different towns around Minnesota before retiring to Arizona.
Linda Hawkinson left her beloved husband, family and friends on August 21, 2007 to be with her heavenly family. Linda Fae Richards was born in Alice, Texas on October 26, 1949.
Funeral services for Lola Michaelson of Morris will be held Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at 10:30 AM at Assumption Catholic Church in Morris. Father John Caskey and Deacon Stan Hennen will be officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4 to 8 PM, with a Rosary Service at 7:00 pm and prayer service at 7:30 pm, at Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris, and for one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.
Funeral Service for Beverly Lichtsinn Simonson, 75, of Wheaton will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, August 21, 2007 at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wheaton, Minnesota with Rev. Thomas Olson officiating. Visitation will be held Monday, August 20 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with a 7:00 P.M. Prayer Service at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Interment will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery.
Unker Christofferson, age 90, of Starbuck, MN, died Friday morning, August 17, 2007, at the Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck. Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. on Monday, August 20, 2007, at the Minnewaska Lutheran Home Chapel in Starbuck, with Chaplain James Gronewold officiating. Interment will be in St. John Nepomuk cemetery following the service. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 P.M. on Sunday at the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood and again on Monday at the Minnewaska Lutheran Home Chapel, one hour prior to the service.
By Tom Larson Sun Tribune While initial leads have dried up in the search for an 18-year-old man suspected in a shooting last month in Morris, law enforcement continues to investigate and wait. Sergio Ismael Valdes is suspected of shooting a 21-year-old man in the chest with a small caliber weapon at about 1:20 a.m. on July 15. Valdes fled the scene after the shooting and has not be apprehended.
