Funeral services for Kurt Michael Asmus of Morris were held Monday, Sept. 3, 2007 at the Morris Evangelical Free Church in Morris. Pastor Don Trulson and Pastor Marlin Mohrman officiated. Burial was at Scandia East Cemetery, rural Cyrus. Kurt Michael Asmus, son of Keith and Lynn (Larson) Asmus, was born April 7, 1974 in Morris. He was baptized on May 5, 1974 by Reverend John Malm and confirmed on May 7, 1989 by Reverend Peter Seaberg at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cyrus. He began his schooling in Cyrus and graduated from Hancock High School in 1992.
Funeral services for Clara Moerke of Morris were held Saturday, September 1, 2007 at 11 a.m., at St. John's Lutheran Church in Donnelly. Reverend Luther Johnson officiated. Visitation was held Friday from 4 to 7 p.m.. with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Burial was at Vinger Cemetery in Donnelly. Clara Marie Soland, daughter of Knute and Anna (Anderson) Soland, was born April 10, 1919 in Fergus Falls. She grew up on a farm in Pomme de Terre Township in Northeast Grant County.
Funeral services for Carol Tuttle of Denver, Colorado formerly of Chokio will be held Sunday, September 2, 2007, at 2 p.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris. Reverend Marlin Mohrman will be officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Sunday. Burial will be at the Chokio Lutheran Cemetery, rural Chokio. Carol, daughter of Henry, Jr. and Sophia (Mauch) Burmeister, was born December 11, 1924, in Graceville. She graduated from Chokio High School in 1942 and continued her education at the Minnesota School of Business in Minneapolis.
Funeral services for Hazel Koons of Brainerd, formerly of Morris will be held Monday, September 3, 2007 at 2:00 PM at Zion Lutheran Church in Morris. Reverend Mark Kleckner from Zion Lutheran Church in Brainerd will be officiating. Burial will be at Summit Cemetery in Morris. Military rites will be provided by the Morris American Legion, VFW and AmVets. Hazel Katherine Koons, daughter of Jacob and Katherine (Sangel) Koons, was born March 14, 1917 in Jackson County, Minnesota. Following High School, Hazel attended business school and also the West Central School of Agriculture in Morris.
Kurt Asmus, age 33, of Morris passed away on Tuesday, August 28, 2007. Funeral services for Kurt Asmus will be held on Monday, September 3 at 10:30 a.m. at the Evengelical Free Church in Morris. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 2 from 4-8 p.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to services.
Judy A. Grossman, age 56 of Benson, died August 28, 2007 at her home after a battle with cancer. Judy Ann Grossman was born April 9, 1951, in Marshall, Minnesota, the daughter of Ronald and Donna Mae (Welu) Engel. She was called from this life on Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at her residence after a battle with cancer. She attained the age of 56 years, 4 months and 19 days. Judy was baptized as an infant and confirmed into the Christian faith at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Seaforth, MN. She grew up in Seaforth and attended grade school at St.
Richard "Dick" Rentz, age 71, passed away suddenly on June 21, 2007. Dick and his wife Jan of 51 years, recently moved to make their home on the island of Kauai, Hawaii. Dick attended St. Mary's School and graduated from Morris High School. Dick was active in sports. Dick worked for Red Owl for many years.
Carol M. Tuttle, age 82, of Denver, Colo. (formerly of Chokio), passed away August 25, 2007 in Denver. Funeral services for Carol M. Tuttle will be held on Sunday, September 2 at 2 p.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris. Burial will be at Chokio Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, September 2 from 1-2 p.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home.
Libby Lou Cudrio Pederson, 68, Elizabeth, died peacefully in her sleep on August 24, 2007, at Lake Region Hospital. She was born March 23, 1939, in Morris, to Frederick and June (Breckenridge) Cudrio. She attended school in Morris and met her husband Don in 1955. On June 16, 1956, she married Don Pederson at Christ Church in Benson. The couple moved to Fergus Falls where Libby was the restaurant manager at North Union Café (Ma's Café) for several years. In 1973 the couple moved to Detroit Lakes where she managed the Dairy Delite Restaurant.
Funeral services for Bernice Jacoby of Buffalo Lake formerly of Hancock will be held on Friday, August 31, 2007 at 11:30 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Hancock. Reverend Gregg Bitter will be officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, August 30, 2007 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Hancock. Bernice Elizabeth Jacoby, daughter of Albert and Mary (Benson) Berg was born on August 3, 1920 in Augsburg Township, Marshall County, MN.
