Funeral services for Raymond Meichsner of Morris, formerly of Hancock will be held Monday, Dec. 15, 2008 at 11 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Hancock. Reverend Gregg Bitter will be officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Hancock and for one hour prior to services at the church on Monday. Burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Hancock. Raymond Lawrence Meichsner, son of Rev. Ernest and Josephine (Oravetz) Meichsner, was born July 8, 1927 in Deer Creek.
In the hands of God, and in the company of his loving family and the caring staff of Minnewaska Lutheran Home, Ronald Russell Lindquist, devoted husband, father and grandfather passed peacefully from this earth the evening of Monday, Dec. 8, 2008. He was 71 years of age. Ron was born in Hector on July 12, 1937 to Russell and Clara (Blondell) Lindquist, and was the oldest of three children. He moved with his family as a young boy to Morris, where he was raised.
Dale Kenneth Westerlund, age 86, resident of Brainerd, died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2008, at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd. Dale was born Oct. 12, 1922, in Two Harbors, Minn., to Ragner and Mary (Benoit) Westerlund. He was united in marriage on April 12, 1942, to the late Doris Murray for 54 years. Dale was a veteran of WWII. He was an active member of the VFW and the American Legion for 66 years, proudly serving as color guard for both organizations. Dale worked for Burlington Northern Railroad from 1945-1954 and spent the remaining years with Fuller Brush Co.
Funeral services for Jerome "Jerry" Petsche of Hancock will be held Friday, Dec. 12, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church in Hancock. Reverend Julius Miller will be officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday from 4 to 8 PM at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and for one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Burial will be held on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008 at 10:00 AM at Lakeside Cemetery in Hancock. Jerome Harold Petsche, son of Lawrence and Leola (Theisen) Petsche, was born Dec. 3, 1948 in Guttenburg, Iowa.
Funeral services for Lillian Roberts of Morris will be held Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. at the Federated Church in Morris. Reverend Hilda Parks will be officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Federated Church in Morris and one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday. Burial will be at Summit Cemetery in Morris. Lillian Belle Carbert, daughter of Arthur and Stella (Bruner) Carbert, was born July 11, 1911 in Delhi. When Lillian was nine, her family moved to Hodges Township in Stevens County, where she attended school at District #8.
Luverne Clifford Norbie, 82 of Willmar, died on Sunday at the Veterans Hospital in St. Cloud. The service will be 10:00 am Thursday, Dec. 11, 2008 at First Baptist Church with interment at Fairview Cemetery, Lindstrom. Friends may call from 5 until 7 pm Wednesday at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home and on Thursday 1 hour prior to services at the church. Luverne was born in Kandiyohi County on a farm near Spicer, on Jan. 12, 1926, the son of Pearl Norbie-Hopkins and step-son of Raymond Hopkins.
Funeral services for Stanton Nelson were held on Friday, Dec. 5, 2008, at 1:30 p.m., at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church of Baxter Township. Pastor Theresa Kraft officiated at the services. Linda Sandbakken was the organist. Honorary Bearers were Lonny Slagter, Don Ochs, Mike Ochs, and Bruce Ochs. Casketbearers were Tony Sachs, Kent Olson, Owen Schipnewski, Keith Holzheimer, Tony Gasterland, Derrick Nonweiler, Jessie Burmeister, and Vernell Larson.
Funeral services for Opal Johnson of Morris will be held Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008 at 11 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Morris. Reverend Ali Boomershine will be officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church.
Richard Patrick Klimek was born on May 30, 1970 in Alexandria, the twelfth out of thirteen children to Jerome and Delleen (Daas) Klimek. He was baptized and confirmed at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Millerville. The Klimek family lived on the family farm in the Millerville/Brandon area. Rick attended Brandon High School and graduated in 1988. Rick met Jennifer Gullickson in August of 1989 and the couple was married on Aug. 22, 1992, at Calvary Lutheran Church in Alexandria. To this union two children were born: Haley and Derek.
Rick Nelson, age 30 of River Falls, Wis. died on Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2008 as the result of an automobile accident. Rick was born the son of Robert and Nancy (Werner) Nelson on June 8, 1978 in Pipestone. He graduated from the Morris Area High School with the class of 1996. In 2002 Rick moved to River Falls. He became an active member of Servant of the Shepherd Church, softball and football teams, AA and NA. He worked for the Designer Door Company. Rick loved his daughter, sports, music and his dog J.C.
