The Osakis girls golf team kicked off its Central Minnesota Conference season schedule by taking first place in a meet Tuesday at Maple Lake. Freshman golfer Alayna Eldred led the Silverstreaks by finishing first place overall with a nine-hole score of 34. Other scoring golfers for Osakis included Ariel Chalmers (44), Hannah Lien (47) and Kiara Hensley (49).
Hailey Kreft was West Central Area’s lone representative in a varsity meet at Tipsinah Mounds Golf Course in Elbow Lake on Tuesday. Kreft shot a front-nine 52 and followed that with a 57 to score a 109.

The Ashby-Brandon-Evansville track and field teams kicked off the outdoor season with the girls taking fourth and boys 11th in Perham on Friday. Head coach Jennifer Froemming was ready to see what her teams could do at an outside meet. “It was great to finally get on a real track,” she said. “It’s hard to explain and practice relay handoffs and blocks when you have to scratch lines in the dirt. We saw some great performances and started exploring events for our new athletes.
