The Alexandria wrestling team came out of its holiday break by grabbing a third place finish at the Foley Tom Keating Memorial Invitational tournament on Saturday. St. Cloud Tech won the tournament with 175 team points, followed by Foley in second with 160.5 and Alexandria in third with 125.5. The Cardinals were led by second place finishes by Ben Bogart at 113 and Dylan Ledman at 145.
The West Central Area/Ashby/Brandon-Evansville wrestling team won two of three matches in a triangular meet Friday in Staples. The only loss of the meet came to a larger Class AAA opponent in St. Cloud Tech. After the 42-24 loss, the Knights rebounded to win its final two matches 55-15 against Staples-Motley and 39-28 over Blackduck-Cass Lake-Bena.
