The run to a Little Eight Conference championship was finalized by hot-shooting from the Brandon-Evansville girls basketball team Tuesday in a 66-42 victory over Ashby in Brandon. The game was the deciding contest for the conference title as both teams came into Tuesday with 9-2 LEC records. Outside shooting was the difference for the Chargers in the game as they knocked down nine three-pointers in the first half to grab a 38-23 lead at the intermission.

The Alexandria girls hockey team capped off its run at the state tournament by hoisting the Class A consolation trophy after winning a 1-0 matchup with Hibbing-Chisholm on Saturday.
