The Douglas County Hospital nursery was filled with multiples last week as four women gave birth to four sets of twins within four days. Along with these eight, another four single-birth infants were born, bringing the maternity ward grand total to 12 babies and eight moms on July 2.

A new "linear accelerator" used to treat cancer patients arrived at CentraCare Radiation Oncology at the Douglas County Hospital this week. The machine cost $2.2 million and weighs 23,000 pounds.
