Through the festival weekend, grape stomping prelims were held under the big tent every 15 minutes. The crowd had a great time cheering on the two-person teams – one squishing the grapes with their feet and the other collecting the juice. More than 300 teams stomp 10,000 pounds of grapes during the three-day festival. (Amy Chaffins | Echo Press)

Frost covered the Marquette vineyard block at Carlos Creek last winter. Although the grapes were developed to withstand temperatures of 30-below zero, last December was a killer because it brought extreme cold temperatures early – 17 days were below zero. (Contributed)
