Applefest helpers load a pumpkin into a catapult to fling it across the winery ground at a designated target at a previous event. This year’s Applefest will be held on Saturday, October 17 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Carlos Creek Winery in Alexandria and will offer pie eating contests, live music, wagon rides and more.
