Alexandria Police Department officer Brian Kakach and CPA student Linda Meichsner go through safety steps before shooting firearms. Citizen's Police Academy students had the opportunity to shoot two firearms. One was a 9-millimeter pistol (the same firearm officers carry) and the other a .40-caliber Universal Machine Pistol.

There was glitz, glamour and an abundance of smiles Friday night during the Night to Shine event in Alexandria. New Life Christian Church hosted the prom night experience for local people with special needs, ages 16 and older.
