Wrestling: Team season ends for Osakis in section opener

Osakis wrestling saw the team portion of its season come to an end on Tuesday night in the opening round of the Section 5, Class A tournament.

The Silverstreaks were seeded eighth but could not keep up with ninth-seeded BOLD in a 52-30 win for the Warriors. Osakis got its final win of the day from Colton Waldvogel at 170 pounds when he pinned Jaden Huebsch in 48 seconds. The Warriors responded with four straight wins, three by pin and one for forfeit, to finish off the win.

Osakis got a pin in 1:37 from Kale Drevlow at 106 pounds. Nathan Kulzer added a pin in 1:42 at 126 and Gage Zieske pinned Jordan Amberg in 44 seconds at 138 pounds. The Silverstreaks’ other win came from Duncan Vandergon at 160 pounds in a forfeit.

Osakis finishes off the season with a 5-19 record in duals. The Silverstreaks will now look ahead to section individuals at Minnewaska High School on Feb. 24.
