Volleyball: B-B-E powers past Silverstreaks 3-0

The Osakis volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa on Tuesday, Aug. 28 in Osakis.

“We were ahead 18-9 in the first game. We were playing with a ton of focus and made very minimal mistakes,” Silverstreaks head coach Kirsten Wessel said. “They were able to chip away and make a comeback.”

The Eagles flipped their first-set deficit into a 25-21 win, and then added to it with 25-16 and 25-14 victories to clinch the sweep.

Tianna Stanek led Osakis with five kills on the night, while Elli Clasemann and Jacey Larson followed with four apiece. Stanek and Kylie Anderson recorded a team-high 11 digs each, while Megan Peikert tallied 10. Anderson also picked up three aces, and Clasemann picked up 15 set assists.

“We played well in all three games. Well enough to stay with them,” Wessel said. “It was a fun exciting match. Fun to play those types of games with that type of competition. … They really proved that momentum can shift very quickly.”

The Silverstreaks will return to action at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 4, for a road matchup with Long Prairie-Grey Eagle in Long Prairie.
