The Alexandria girls track and field team had a home triangular on Tuesday ahead of the state true team meet on Friday, and the Cardinals used the warmup to set a couple of school records.

Senior Abby Forester cruised past her personal-best in the pole vault by six inches and set a new Alexandria record after clearing nine feet, nine inches. Then in the shot put, junior McKenzie Duwenhoegger eclipsed teammate Mya Lesnar's school record as she threw 44 feet, 7 inches, just barely beating Lesnar with her throw of 44 feet, 5 inches.

"This team continues to show how they are developing into a force on the track and in the field," head coach Meghan Orgeman-Crumb said. "Overall, they brought home 49 personal bests and 16 season bests."

The Cardinals won the triangular against Willmar and Sartell-St. Stephen by posting 82 points. Alexandria filled the top four spots in many events to bring home points, including the 100-meter hurdles where Kaye Paschka (14.90), Sydney Gray (16.30) and Jacy Roste (16.80) took the top three spots. It was the same thing in the 400-meter dash as Erika Roderick (1:01.81), Myah Kremer (1:01.84), Aleah Miller (1:02.47) and Addison Rodel (1:03.03) were first, second, third and fourth overall.

Paschka and Sierra Cory got the top two spots in the 300-meter hurdles as Paschka finished in 47.09 seconds and Cory came across in 50.92. Roderick won another event in the 200 dash in a time of 27.63 seconds and Taylor Partington took the high jump with a leap of 4-10.

Roste finished behind Forester in the pole vault as she cleared 9-03. Gray took the long jump with a leap of 15 feet, 9 inches, while Paschka rounded out the jumps with a first-place finish of 34 feet, 11 inches in the triple jump.

In the throws, Duwenhoegger made it a clean sweep by adding to her big day in the shot put with a win in the discus after a throw of 135-07.
