Boys soccer: Brainerd hands Alexandria a fifth straight loss

The Alexandria boys soccer team dropped its fifth straight game on Saturday evening as Brainerd came to town and left with a 7-1 win.

In those five losses, the Cardinals have struggled to produce offense - scoring just four goals overall. The only one that found the back of the net on Saturday came from Joshua Kietzmann off an assist from Graham Peterson. Alexandria senior goalkeeper Zach Wosepka had seven saves and the seven goals allowed as he faced 14 shots.

Brainerd, a Class AA team, is now 4-1 and 1-1 in the Central Lakes Conference. The Warriors’ only loss is from a 2-1 game against Willmar (2-2-1).

The Cardinals are now 2-5 overall and 0-2 in the CLC.
