Volleyball: Streaks earn Prairie Conference win
The Osakis Silverstreaks volleyball team added another Prairie Conference win to their record on Tuesday night when they hosted the Browerville/Eagle Valley Tigers.
The Silverstreaks took the first two sets, 25-18 and 25-21. Tigers fought back and took the third, 25-19 but the Streaks claimed the fourth, 25-20.
"It was a good team effort tonight," Osakis coach Kristin Wessel said. "The girls are doing a nice job of playing good roles for the team."
Offensively, the Streaks ended the match with 91.4 percent serving, four aces, 21 assists and 33 total kills. Defensively, they had six and a half blocks and 61 digs. Middle hitter Cindy VanAcker lead the offense on the net with seven kills, followed closely by middle hitter Madisen Johanson and setter Morgan Faber each with six. Defensive specialist Harlie Falzone lead the backrow with 20 of the 61 digs.
The Streaks improved their overall record to 4-9 and their conference record to 2-1.
"It was nice to get another conference win," Wessel said. "We keep learning and learning to work together."
The Streaks head to Swanville to play the Bulldogs in another conference matchup on Thursday, Sept. 14, at 7:30 p.m.
