Girls golf battles tough field at Minnewaska

The Osakis girls’ golf team finished fourth at the Minnewaska Invite last Friday against a loaded field of competitors that included a lot of bigger schools.

The Silverstreaks shot a 366 behind an 87 from senior Annalise Savageau. All five of their golfers shot under 100 with Alayna Eldred coming in second on the team with a 92. Katelyn Foster carded a 93, while Peyton Garcia and Ariel Chalmers both shot 94s.

The field at the tournament included a talented Detroit Lakes team that won the 2013 Class AA state title. The Lakers are loaded again this year and ran away with the Minnewaska Invite after firing a team score of 332. Alexandria was second with a 351 and Minnewaska rounded out the top three with a 359.
