Osakis boys fall to Tigers in regular-season finale

The Browerville boys scored 40 points after the break on Monday night to pull away in the second half of a 66-45 win over Osakis in the final home game of the season for the Silverstreaks.

Seniors Drew Fearing and Lane Berberich scored 13 and 12 points, respectively, for Osakis. John Boogaard also had 12, but that wasn’t quite enough as the Silverstreaks stuck with an 18-5 Browerville team through one half before the Tigers stretched things out after halftime.

“We played a great first half but their zone caused us fits and we turned the ball over,” Osakis head coach Matt Hoelscher said. “Our seniors played hard on senior night. Kolten Adolphsen got a three at the end, which got the crowd amped up. He deserved a start tonight with his dedication throughout the year, and it was a great way for him to end his playing career at home in front of his friends.”

The Silverstreaks ended the regular season 6-19 overall and 2-12 in the Prairie Conference. They were scheduled to be at Sauk Centre last night, Thursday, to take on the top-seeded Mainstreeters in the 6AA tournament.
