Hagen pin finishes off Paynesville

The Osakis boys’ wrestling team found a way to win another close match on Monday night as the Silverstreaks got a big performance from Peter Hagen at heavyweight to be section foe Paynesville 36-30.

The two teams were tied at 30 apiece going into that heavyweight match. It took Hagen into the second period, but he got Mitchel Floura to the mat and pinned him in 3:47 to secure the win for his team.

That was one of three pins on the night for Osakis. Brendon Coyer got his in just 20 seconds as he put down Connor Meagher at 126 pounds. Garret Sunder got the other as he pinned Nick Gabrielson in 3:32 at 138 pounds.

Devyn Johnson got her team going by earning a 14-8 win at 106 pounds for Osakis. Paynesville bounced back with a decision win at 113 pounds before the Silverstreaks ran off five straight wins. Trenton Coyer started that run with an 11-0 major decision at 120 pounds.

Colton Waldvogel earned a tech fall at 132 pounds by winning 15-0. Ryan Engfer won 4-1 at 145 pounds and Tyler Spanswick won 4-2 at 195 pounds.
