The Osakis girls’ basketball team rolled to a 67-31 victory against Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa Thursday in Osakis.

Head coach Pat Kalpin was happy to see some balanced scoring by the Silverstreaks against BBE, which came into the game with a 4-1 record.

“They went in there and worked their tails off and did some good things, and that’s what we want to do,” Kalpin said. “It was a good, fun, solid win for our kids against a good, quality opponent.”

Last season Osakis won a much closer game on the road against BBE 45-40. Savageau was happy to see a much more favorable score in the matchup this year.

“Last year we didn’t play very well against them,” she said. “But this year we started really strong and made a run in the first half and we were able to keep the lead.”
