AATA tennis tourney: Alexandria's Holm, Lukes win doubles title

The first Zorbaz on the Lake area youth tennis tournament wrapped up with plenty of area division winners recently.

The Alexandria Area Tennis Association hosted the three-day event, which brought in players from a number of different communities.

Drew Corneil of Willmar won the Boys' Varsity Division over Alexandria's Levi Duwenhoegger in the title match. Brendan Holm of Alexandria won the consolation title.

Delayney Edwards of Rochester took the Girls' Varsity Division. Osakis was well represented in that division with Taylor Kraemer taking third and her sister Ashley earning the consolation title. Osakis' Kiara Hensley won the Junior High School Division by beating Olivia Corneil of Willmar in the title match.

The Junior Varsity Division was won by Spencer Vogel and Katlynne Peterson of Alexandria.

The mixed doubles division was won by Alexandria's Brendan Holm and Rebecca Lukes. They took down Payton Grandgenett of Alexandria and Ellen Stensrud of Glenwood in the final match. Glenwood's Rachel Riley teamed up with Karl Thorfinnson to take third, while Jake Pederson of Glenwood and Brittany Randt of Kensington were consolation champs.
