Fish Report: Panfish still going strong

Anglers in search of sunfish and crappies have been finding a quite a bit of success lately with the bite still going strong on a lot of lakes in the area.

0 Talk about it

“The panfish bite is definitely picking up,” Jeremy Shuck of Christopherson Bait in Alexandria said. “I’m still hearing crappies are being caught in the basins and bluegills and stuff are moving up into the weed lines. A lot of guys are using wax worms and euros are working really well on demons or little spoons. Some of the better lakes are, Lake Osakis is still really good. Lake Mary, the Chain has been pretty good.”

Walleyes are still hard to find right now, but many who are still having some luck are finding them on some of the bigger lakes in the area.

“Walleyes are still pretty slow,” Shuck said. “There again, it’s the bigger Lakes - Ida, Miltona, the Chain.”
