Girls golf: Four Lakers finish All-WCC
The Minnewaska girls golf team wrapped up a West Central Conference title on Thursday and cemented four of its players as All-WCC performers in the process.
Ashlyn Guggisberg finished as the top player in the league with her 37.8 average. Madi McGinty (41.2), Emily Harste (43.8) and Greta Reichmann (47.3) all joined her among the top 13 golfers that finished as All-WCC performers.
The Lakers won the conference title by five points over BOLD after the two teams split nine-hole meets at Benson and Montevideo on Thursday.
The Warriors won in the morning at Montevideo with a 174 to Minnewaska's 178 before the Lakers took the afternoon round with a 175 to BOLD's 178.
Guggisberg shot a 35 in Benson to lead all scorers, while McGinty had a 45 for the Lakers. Harste shot a 47 and Reichmann a 48 to round out the scoring. Grace Names had a 53, Berkley Steffen a 54 and Annika Stensrud a 56.
Sauk Centre's Morgan Kranz shot a 38 in the morning meet to edge Guggisberg's 39. BOLD's Ashley Trongard also shot a 39.
McGinty finished with a 44 at the Crossings. Stensrud had a 47, Harste a 48 and Reichmann a 49. Names finished with a 50, while Steffen rounded out the lineup with a 62.
