Lakers drop fourth straight to Melrose

The Minnewaska softball team dropped its fourth straight game in a 6-5 loss to Melrose on Friday.

Melrose scored three runs in the bottom of the third inning to take a 5-3 lead. Minnewaska pulled within one run in the fifth inning but was unable to tie the game.

Mady Phillips led the Lakers’ offense by going 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a stolen base.

Phillips was the losing pitcher after allowing six runs in six innings.
