Minnewaska girls beat Paynesville in finale

Minnewaska’s Bayley Pooler had 23 points, five rebounds, four steals and three assists to lead the Lakers to a 74-47 win over Paynesville in the regular-season finale for the Minnewaska girls on Monday night.

Carley Stewart added 14 points, three rebounds, three assists and three steals, while Madison Phillips had 15 points and three steals. The win sent the Lakers into the 6AA South playoffs last night, after going 12-14 in the regular season.

Minnewaska was seeded fifth in the tournament and was scheduled to travel to Morris last night. The winner of that game will likely play top-seeded New London-Spicer on Saturday.
