Minnewaska tennis improves to 11-1 on season

The Minnewaska tennis team picked up its 11th win this season with a 5-2 road win over Melrose last Thursday.

The win boosted the Lakers’ record to 11-1 this year, and the success has been recognized by area coaches. Minnewaska was ranked 10th by the Minnesota Tennis Coaches Association in their most recent poll.

Against Melrose, the Lakers picked up singles victories from Ellen Stensrud, Jada Hoffman and Myranda Thoen. In doubles, Rachel Riley and Makenna Hanson won at first doubles and Joelle Thorfinnson and Annika Pederson won at second doubles.

The Lakers’ next home match is September 26 against West Central Area.
