Minnewaska tennis moves to 5-0

The Minnewaska tennis team hopes to compete with Osakis in the section field this season and the Lakers have gotten off to a good start with a 5-0 record after beating Benson 6-1 on Tuesday.

The wins in the singles lineup came in straight sets for Ellen Stensrud and the first spot, Hannah Freske at the second spot and Myranda Thoen at the fourth spot.

The doubles lineup needed just one third set in sweeping away the Braves. Rachel Riley and MaKenna Hanson teamed up to win at the first spot 7-5, 6-1. Joelle Thorfinnson and Annika Pederson won 6-2, 6-0 at the second spot and Sarah Freske and Karissa LeMont won 6-4, 6-7 (4-7), 6-2 at third doubles.
