Football: BOLD powers past Osakis in week two
The Osakis football team ran into another really good BOLD team on Friday night.
The Warriors went 10-1 a year ago, including a 39-14 win over Osakis in week two of 2017. They are 2-0 again this year after a 49-0 win over the Silverstreaks on Friday night.
BOLD used the middle two quarters to pull away. The Warriors led 7-0 after the first but put up 21 points in the second quarter. They added two more touchdowns in the third before putting things away with another in the fourth.
Osakis ran for 190 yards on 35 carries. Jacob Backes led the way with 48 yards on six carries. Duncan Vandergon broke off 41 yards on just three touches, and Triston Stoetzel and Hunter Infanger each added 34 yards.
Infanger was 3-of-7 passing for 26 yards with an interception. Stoetzel led the defense with eight tackles. Logan Hartshorn added seven and Luke Staloch finished with six tackles.
The Silverstreaks will have a chance to bounce back against an 0-2 Benson team in week three. The Braves will host Osakis at 7 p.m. on Friday after losing 26-0 to Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg in week one and 60-56 to Sauk Centre in week two.
