Resorters League baseball: Bluedogs move to 6-0

The Brandon-Evansville Bluedogs had two games rained out last weekend but improved to 6-0 with the one game they did get in during a 5-3 win over Elrosa.

The Saints committed five errors throughout the night. Two of those came in the first inning as the Bluedogs took a 4-0 lead they would never relinquish. Monte Hinzmann had a two-RBI single in the first. Lee Nelson added an RBI double to add an insurance run in the top of the ninth, while Kyle Bruns and Josh Meissner had the team's other two hits.

Matt Bruns got the win after going three innings in relief of Shawn Krueger. Bruns allowed one run on two hits and two walks. Kyle and Mike Bruns worked the final four frames, with Mike getting the save after throwing two scoreless innings.

The Bluedogs rescheduled its rained out game in Ashby for this Sunday at 2 p.m. That will follow a Friday night game in Evansville as Osakis comes to town for an 8 p.m. first pitch.
