The Alexandria adapted bowling team will be well represented at the state tournament on Friday. Before they left, the athletes got a big send-off from their classmates.

The Cardinals have 22 bowlers who qualified for the state tournament at the Brunswick Zone in Brooklyn Park tomorrow.

When class was over on Thursday, they stepped outside of Alexandria Area High School with their classmates forming a tunnel to run through on their way to the bus as they gave them high fives and wished them luck.

The state tournament kicks off at 9 a.m. Friday with singles play. The doubles tournament is at 12:15 that afternoon before the team portion of play gets going at 2:45.

In the PI division for Alexandria, Stephen McCabe and Matt Senstad will compete in doubles, Lily Hjelle in singles and McCabe, Senstad, Hjelle and Alex Eggert make up the PI team at state.

Three CI teams advanced to state from the qualifying round on May 11, including teams of Jon Jahnke, Harley Funk, Dylan Timm and Domnick Goor; Crystal Krohnfeldt, Elton Gruber, Lariah Lien and Nicole Duwenhoegger; and Abby Neale, Daunte Houck, Dalin Reiter and Austin GaNun. Robert Goor and Jahnke will also compete as a pair, and Goor, Gruber, Krohnfeldt and Jenica Bostock will compete as individuals in the CI division.

Evan Larson and Sebastian Billings will pair up for ASD doubles, while Mercedes Nelson and Cameron Arndt are in singles, and Billings, Larson, Nelson and Arndt will compete as a team.
