Alex volleyball picks up fifth conference win

Aggressive play helped the Cardinals win a three-set match in Sartell on Tuesday and increase their overall record to 8-3.

Head coach Becky Schlichting said aggressive serving helped the team pick up nine aces against Sartell on Tuesday.

The Cards implemented some much more aggressive serving throughout the night, which allowed them to earn a few more aces per set than usual,” Schlichting said. “We continue to focus on working hard, being disciplined and playing tough in all situations.”

The Cardinals’ offense was led by Liz Schultz, who picked up 12 kills against Sartell. Katie Dolan picked up a team high four aces, and Amanda Haack had 39 assists.

Amanda Christianson led the Cardinals’ defense with 11 digs.

The Cardinals continued conference play on Thursday evening with a home match against Willmar.
